Theme Information

One year of MTC in this new trackmania so this month it will be a bit special + the 1st anniversary of IX.
This month, we want people to go for a nearly full dirt map. Ofc you can use some other surfaces for transitions but the map need to be at least 75 % dirt. Since this new TM, dirt isnt as much played/loved as it was in the past, some people think even that the gameplay changed too much. As a new rule enter for MTC, we will go more in detail to avoid people publishing old maps or unreleased ones. Any style accepted, map just need to be good and creative using dirt blocks. Try to avoid speedchecks, the note of the theme will be focus on the fact that you used dirt (the 75%) in a way the map is smooth and cool to hunt. This month the theme will have a note based on 10 pts only BUT a lot of bonus/penalty points will be given if your map fit or not some requirements.

Bonus points:
+5pts -Using custom dirt blocks from IX (If you create some new ones 2 extra points will be given)
+5pts -Using custom items (like custom trees/rocks for example)
+5pts -At least one no slide turn on a dirt surface (when the car dont slide)[A turn is considered when the car actually change direction, for example going straight North then no sliding into a East direction]
+5pts -Using the official TMX signpack at least 2 in the entire map
+5pts -Add a beautiful image into your map thumbnail in TMX
+3pts -Add a GPS
+2pts -Add an Intro

Penalty points:
-5pts -If the 5th gear is used (One judge will hunt the map during at least one hour, make sure the car cant use the 5th gear)
-5pts -If you used more than 2 times the SAME turn block (the opposite turn is considered to be the same for example a 2x2 right turn and a 2x2 left one)
-5pts -If the map used more than two effects (effect: speedboost, noengine, reactor boost, etc..)[reset isnt counted in the "two"]
-5pts -If you dont use AT LEAST two different blocs in the map (Dirt Plateform and Dirt road for example)

(N.B 1: Every map will be noted on 40 pts and bonus points will be added in the final score of the map)
(N.B 2: When you release your map, put in the description the requirements you think you achieved)

General Rules

You may submit one track maximum

Duo/Trio tracks are allowed, but each map counts as one track for each author involved

MTC should be present in the track name. Example: "I eat cellery because I don't deserve joy in life (mtc)" or "MTC - I stabbed people long before Among Us" (check that any special characters do not break in the TM or MX track name)

The track should be built in the most recent version of the game

Maps must be built specifically for this MTC and uploaded after announcement of the theme.

Blockmixing is allowed

Offgrid Mapping is allowed

Embedded items are allowed

Mods are allowed (remember to include locators!)

Press Forward, Left, Right, or similar tracks are NOT allowed

Deadlines

Your track should be uploaded before Sunday 27th at midnight EST. Submissions will continue to be accepted until I officially announce closure in this thread, which will likely occur the following EST morning.

Tracks submitted within the deadline will have 24 hours after submissions close to make any last minute edits.

Results are calculated and posted soon after voting closes

This is my submission for MTC June 2021. Sorry it's so challenging but that's what I was feeling

Does this mean that a track made of full platform blocks with 1 dirt road block would be heavily penalized? As you would be making turns on flat dirt platform blocks often times. Or could this be circumvented by having different slopes 1/2/3 blocks long as they're technically all different units in either the standard or custom block categories?

For the case of dirt plateform blocks, these will be considered as three different turns for example.

And you can still lose 5 pts .. and not be HEAVILY penalized. Just with this two bonus points you can easily get back + win 5 pts :

To start with, my english isn't perfect and I'm aware that i'm making easy fault in my sentences, so excuse me for these one.

I would like to speak about MTC and everything around it in this message, in case this message would be deleted like you did some times in April, i got a screen of it, so don't even try.

First, as we all know, an MTC theme is habitually original, if I remember correctly, since 2011.
However, Trackmania 2020 has been launched for less than one year now and we already have many non-original theme coming in. It makes me feel like you saw the date and you just put the first theme you could think of.

What I mean is :

MTC April Theme : Mixing Styles - Make a Mix map please, we don't have enough mixed maps in this new Trackmania.

MTC May Theme : Drive Like A Penguin - Make an Ice map because players don't like enough.

MTC June Theme : Offroad Rally - Make a dirt map because dirt is not played anymore please.

I just write it because it shows the originality of the themes these 3 last months on a game that has been released the 1st of July 2020, we are the 5th of June 2021.

Not even one year has passed and the themes are already like this, what will it be in the next years ? The mappers will just lose their interest and not make maps anymore for MTC, and it will just die after more than 10 years.

In second, I think the MTC staff should be replaced, at least a part of it and have at least 2 people to post the message and choose the theme.
What I mean is that even if you have personal problems, you put yourself in it and you should know when you're able to post a message for MTC Theme.
Posting a theme the 07th of the month is absolutely not perfect, and waiting more than 3 months to get a simple result of MTC November isn't good.
Having at least 2 or 3 people for the messages and the testing would be perfect and the theme would maybe be better after that.

To finish, the MTC theme of this month.
It's a weird one, by telling that, I mean that forcing people in adding/deleting stuff in your map is really weird. You can say what you want, adding + or - points because you respected some condition is just too much restrictive for mappers.
