MTC Febuary 2023 - Always higher!

Welcome to the MTC (Monthly Track Contest) for Febuary 2023!
The MTC is a track building contest hosted by TrackmaniaExchange which challenges you to build a map with a specific theme.
There are no prerequisites or qualification requirements to enter, just continue reading the theme below, hop in your editor, and submit a track before the deadline! Let's begin the year by a crazy theme

:build: Theme: Always higher!
- Build a track of any style you want
- You must build at least one jump inbetween two checkpoints.
- Checkpoints must be placed inbetween 10 seconds max.
- All the jumps must be a "going up" jump. (See examples down below) The block where the car lands must be "higher" than the "jump" block.

What is accepted: (The car always arrive from the right side in the examples)

What isn't: (The car always arrive from the right side in the examples)

(brb)Deadline:
Entries must be submitted to the MTC mappack before 28/02/2023 23h59.
Following the deadline, the Host will close the mappack for submissions. At that point, all maps in the mappack are considered valid entries. If you map is sent in less than 24h after the deadline, 5 pts per day will be retired in the total of the judge points

:award: Prize
- Honor and right to brag!
- The winning track will be featured on the TrackmaniaExchange front page!
- The mappack will be featured at the main page after the deadline!

:wait: Rules
- One entry is allowed per user. Multi-author maps count as the single entry for all authors involved.
- “MTC” must be present in the track name as it appears on TMX.
- All entries must be built using the latest version of the game.
- All entries must be built specifically for this MTC.
- Blockmixing, Offgrid mapping, and Embedded Items are allowed.
- Texture mods are allowed.
- Royal tracks are not allowed.

:done: Judging System
All entries will be graded by a panel of judges who will be studying each map based on the following criteria:

Theme (20 pts): How well does the track fit the theme? How creatively did you implement the theme’s requirements?
Design/Route (10 pts): Flow, smoothness, layout, speed, transitions, difficulty. The “Feel” of the track.
Details/Polish (10 pts): Signage, Scenery, Mediatracker. Does the track feel like it has the finishing touches?
Fun Factor (10 pts): Is the track fun to the judge? Some extra points can be given here.

Good luck! Please ask any questions in this thread or in discord, otherwise get to building!

Looks cool! Just to be clear: you can use drops in this map as long as there is one jump between each CP that brings you higher than the cutoff point of said jump, correct?

So this example would be okay?

If yes, is it okay because it has jumps which are OK according to the rules, or is it okay because the jumps follow the rules and the 2nd CP is higher than the 1st CP?

If no, is it because drop downs aren't allowed whatsoever? Because a drop is obviously lower, but it isn't a jump per se...

Sorry, the terminology combined with the example images make it that I want to be sure before starting.

Thanks! 👍

I maybe explained myself bad but: "All the jumps must be a "going up" jump. (See examples down below) The block where the car lands must be "higher" than the "jump" block."

Even if there are more than 1 jump in between each cp. So Red isnt allowed, green and yellow are ok ;)

Voting is Open!
This is it, the last MTC we still need to catch up on. There's 9 maps that have been patiently waiting, so let's figure out which one gets the gold.

Here's how to vote:
  • Go to the "MTC" room found in the TM Exchange club
  • When you're on a map, send one of these vote messages into chat to vote:
    • -- = 1 point (bad)
    • - = 2 points
    • +- = 3 points
    • + = 4 points
    • ++ = 5 points (good)
  • If you need to change your vote on a map, just send your new vote in chat. Only the most recent vote on each map is recorded
  • The map with the highest average rating wins!
  • Everyone can vote! If you made a map, your vote on your own map WILL be counted (feel free to give it a ++ !)
  • You do not need to finish a map to vote on it, but please give it your best effort!
  • You must vote on at least half of the maps for your votes to count
  • If you liked a map, please leave it an award
  • If you have any feedback, please leave a comment on the map's page
  • The jukebox and voting are enabled, so feel free to request, extend, and skip maps
The voting period will last for at least one week, after which I will tally all the votes and our final results will be posted!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, start driving and get voting!

Voting is now closed! I need a bit of time to get the results prepared, but they should be ready within a couple days.

LinhZVN dazzles us to take the gold! :gold:

Razo.'R rises to second place! :silver:

dackstone slingshots up to third! :bronze:

Voter turnout was great this time, with 9 participants! In addition, the maps MTC - Hercules and MTC - Clio 22 were as close as you could get without tying. Only 0.01 points seperated them!

Congratulations to our winners!

Here's the link to the full results sheet.

Thanks to all the builders and voters who participated in the contest!

For more MTC goodness, you can join the ongoing November 2023 MTC! There's still more than half a month to build your map. If driving's more your style, the October 2023 MTC is in the midst of its voting stage.

Thanks again, and see you next time!
