Welcome to the eleventh Monthly Track Contest (MTC) in the new Trackmania!
Once a month, Trackmania Exchange organizes a mapping competition for the community that requires every participant to build a map following a changing theme. Participating is easy: Check out the theme for this month, build a map, and upload it to the official MTC mappack on this site!

All tracks will be rated by our official MTC judges and a winner is determined.

Theme of the Month: Drive like a penguin

Theme Information

Since some people are so impatient to know the theme of the month here is it day 1.
This month, we want people to put on the skis and go for a complete ice map. Ofc you can use some other surfaces but the map need to be at least 75 % ice. First being hated now begin to be loved by a lot we felt thats the right moment to bring this surface to an MTC theme. Any style accepted, map just need to be good and creative using Ice blocs (bobsleigh or iceplatefom or narrow ice roads). Try to avoid speedchecks with ice jump this time, the note of the theme will be focus on the fact that you used ice (the 75%) in a way the map is smooth and cool to hunt.

If you have questions regarding the theme, ask them here in the forum thread or visit us on Discord!

The idea I had here was to build a tech player's vision of an ice map. :)

Hey TrackmaniaExchange! I tried to build a smooth, compact ice map which is hopefully beginner-friendly and fun to play :)

I have a question regarding the rules.

How are the 75% measured? Is it blocks traveled, time spent on surface or by another metric?
I'd like to submit a track, where i'm pretty sure you would travel on more than 75% ice, but only spend like 70-65% of the time on ice, due to a slower road start segment and jumps and speedslides.
I would be fine taking some points penalty because of this ofc, but it would be great to know if it would even be accepted into the competition. I could also extend the track so it would move closer to the 75% of time spent on ice, but it probably would shift my desired difficulty and worsen track quality.

    Hi entrylag.

Since i dont specified BEFORE i will ask the judges to be "kind" with this. I was more thinking about the time spent on the surface. Remember the "at least" so no problem if you do a full ice map. You can go a bit under the "75 %" thingy just dont do an "half ice" map. Goal is to make ice maps and not "mixed" ones.
