This is the first time I've ever participated in an MTC!

Good luck everyone!

Submissions are officially closed! Thank you everyone for an incredible 29 submissions to kick off the Monthly Track Contest in the new game :)

What's next? The maps will be judged and assigned scores! That can take a while, as we want to make sure to drive every submitted map for long enough to give them a good score and adequate feedback.

Who judges the maps? 1) A dedicated panel of judges and 2) the public.

The judging panel consists of several players that have a longstanding history of playing and building maps in Trackmania - their expertise allows them to give every participant feedback on their maps and assign objective scores to the submissions. But also the public should have their say, which is why I will open the public judging period tomorrow. Then, I will also explain in more detail how public judging works. It would be great to see many of you then cast your votes.

I am also still looking for some additional full judges. So if you think you have the experience to be part of this months judging panel and make your vote count more, send me a message!

We count 29 submissions for this initial kick-off month, which is great to see :) You can download all maps here.

In the voting sheet, give your score before your feedback (0 to 10, decimals are allowed). If you have comments, leave them right after your score. For example:

8.3 - A bit rough in spots, but otherwise very fun!

  • Everyone is allowed to judge, even players who submitted a map (your score on your own map will be removed, so give it whatever you want!)
  • Every map will be judged with a decimal number from 0 (bad) to 10 (good). All votes greater than/equal to 7 or less than/equal to 4 require constructive feedback on why you gave it that score
  • Note that you have to judge a stage entirely! You cannot judge only half of it. If you are not able to finish the map, your vote can still count! Please only leave that as a very last resort, and still judge the entire map fairly
  • You need to verify your vote by making a post here (for example: "Voted :done:")
  • One best and one worst vote for each map will be ignored if more than 10 people vote
  • The overall score will be a mixture of the average public score and the average internal score
  • The mixture will be 85/15 between internal judging and public voting if there is 1 public voter, 80/20 for 2, and 75/25 for 3, up until 50/50.
  • You must be able to play and vote on all maps for your votes to count

A panel of judges will also judge the maps. This month, our judges are:   Keissla.wp,   Switch,   pascow,   eFFecT and   Sky.

This internal voting will follow the format of:
Theme (20p) | Creativity (10p) | Fun (10p) | Detail (10p)

All public voting will soft close on August 12th, 2020 at midnight EST. After that, you may still vote until the internal judges complete their voting.

How is the weight ratio between the public score and the panel score defined? 50:50?

that depends upon how many public votes are submitted. The more public votes, the more the public vote counts, but it is hardcapped at a 50:50 division.
