"Grindstone" is a 5-minute long mixed track aimed towards beginners. It covers most important techniques and styles, and lets players sharpen their basic skills in Trackmania!

Took around a month to build overall. Voltus and I used the Map Together plugin for scenery for a bit more efficiency.

All the medal times are calculated to be decent goals for beginners, including the author time. If you manage to beat the AT, it's a sign of having understood the basics of different surfaces, techniques and tricks!

The map has five distinct sections:

  • Grass
  • Road
  • "RPG" (and a small ice part)
  • Plastic
  • Fast mixed (Speedfun)


All of these are built to be fairly simple for newer players.

My PB is 4:23.733 - it's also the GPS run. If you want a shiny medal, you can get the "SBVille Challenges"-plugin. The map is now included there, just like my 2023 campaign!
